To date, Caprion has established itself as the global leader and pharmaceutical industry partner of choice in two specific domains of applied proteomics; novel target discovery and development and biomarker discovery.
In novel target discovery, the Company has established major research and licensing alliances in the oncology area with Abbott, Biogen Idec and ICOS, as well as a major bio-defense contract with the NIH on an infectious disease target discovery program in the area of intracellular pathogens.
In clinical plasma and tissue profiling, Caprion has executed breakthrough work with Pharma leaders such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Wyeth, Berlex and Vertex to demonstrate the value of clinical and pre-clinical protein biomarkers in the selection of compounds and the design of subsequent clinical trials.
These collaborations with major pharmaceutical partners have generated over US$30 million in revenues, more than US$100 million in potential future milestone payments and the additional potential for significant future royalties on drugs developed by its partners.
